This is a non-profit website dedicated to educating the public on the history of the Chicago Bears football team. Photographs certainly enhance the ability to tell this story. Advertising to businesses may be sold in the future on this website, only to defray the costs of producing and hosting the site.
Photos used on www.bearshistory.com have been purchased in 8x10 format from various sources, scanned, and imprinted with a watermark to discourage unauthorized linking. This watermark is not meant to imply that copyright on the photo is owned by this website nor that the photo was taken by the author of this website.
This site has the permission of several photographers to use their work here, and in those cases the author's name and contact information is imprinted on the image. Some un-identifiable images have been taken from various sites on the internet. There are no photos on this website that have been taken from other sites and publications that expressly prohibit their use.
NFL and Chicago Bears logos are not used anywhere on this site, and many disclaimers have been written here reminding the visitor that this site is not endorsed by or affiliated with the Chicago Bears or the National Football League.
The author has researched fair-use copyright law and believes that any images used herein are under that doctorine, for non-profit educational use.
All photos displayed on the site are no larger than 250 pixels in width, making it very unlikely that the photo could be duplicated for any non-digital purposes (such as printing the photo).
Should any owner of a copyrighted photo on this website find their image here, upon notification we would be happy to preferably credit you and link back to your site. And rave to the public about your work. Otherwise we will immediately remove the image at your request.
I have taken it very seriously when persons have copied my pages wholesale and posted them elsewhere, so I would never want to infringe on someone else's hard work. At the same time, I am happy to share my work with others as long as it is properly attributed.
